"Always be content with what you have"

Joan's life philosophy was to try her best to do the right thing always. She recalled a happy childhood on the farm; never going hungry, and valued her relationship with her parents and husband, and their children above all else. Joan placed her faith not only in family, and good friends, but in God also, striving to always help others. She declared the 1950s and 60s some of the best years of her life; courting, attending picnics, dances and balls, "dressing up and having a fabulous time!"
