Hannah Pearl Simpson

Hannah Pearl Simpson (nee Rogers) Born December 15th, 1915 Manildra, NSW

" I really ner say bad things about anyone" Pearl was born at Manildra, a small farming community on the banks of Mandagery Creek between Orange and Parkes. She lived her life close by at Molong where she and husband William ran a farm and raised their four children. Pearl loved the farm. Here she tended a flock of one hundred chickens, whose eggs she'd sell on the railway to Orange. Pearl proudly boasted collecting each of the one hundred eggs a day (disappointingly only 99 on occasion) and to having never broken a single one, which payed for the children's bus fare to school and the family's groceries. Pearl lived a clean life. She didn't drink or smoke, and never said a bad word about others; "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." She loved her church and believed in the power of a positive attitude.
